London Street Style...Dinosaur Designs

Ever looked longingly at the brooches in the shop at the National History Museum or the National Geographic Shop and thought, gee, I'd love one of those but I don't want to look like a 7 year old with a stegosaurus obsession? err, or is that just me?! In any case, if you do have a hankering for a bit of prehistoric adornment, then I think this girl is a good example of how to do it successfully: keep everything else super simple and top it all off with a great haircut...and a great smile!

Just remember to hide them away from any sticky-fingered, beady-eyed, t-rex obsessive 7 year olds!

  1. Pretty darn sure this post was meant just for me.

Scene: A week ago on a lovely Saturday morn, I donned my Auntie hat and took my nephews dear to the Dinosaur Park. At the end of our adventure, we popped into the gift shop to purchase some drinks to quench our thirst for the drive home and I saw the most darling pin: a tiny, silver T-Rex. A whopping 99 cent price tag and I shook my head and told myself I didn't need something for a kid.

Boy ... with this post and pic ... now I regret not just wearing what I want to wear, no matter what anyone else things, but I digress :)

Thanks for reminding me that it's okay to always be stylishly cool and young at heart.

  2. I got my 4-yr old nephew a tin can full of dinosaurs knick-knacks from a yard sale. They're somewhere in his stash of oft-neglected toys. Hmm... perhaps I should snatch back a little figure for myself. No,no, not the purple and green one "from our imagination" and his friends.

  3. Bargain Bex and Anon- hee hee! Hmmmm so I guess I shouldn't feel guilty about wanting to buy things that are obviously meant for littlies... you guys are with me on this :))
BargainBex: I took my friend's little girl to the Butterly exhibition at the National History Museum last year and I spent the whole time panicking about her trying to touch the butterflies! It sounds like you had a much more relaxing time with your nephews!
Anon- I think the key will be NEVER to talk to him about dinosaurs because sure enough he will suddenly remember that can of dino knick-knacks you got for him....and chaos will ensue!!
